Teaching Assistant required urgently to provide 1-2-1 and small group support for Key Stage 3 & 4 students with a range of Social Emotional and Mental Health needs.

This vibrant SEMH school provides students with all the tools that they require to reengage with education.

As a Teaching Assistant at this school, you will be providing behavioural support, mentoring and wellbeing support for students who struggle to engage.


Facilities are excellent at this school, staff are friendly, and you will be joining an experienced, proactive team of Teaching Assistants who are committed to making a difference.

This is a long-term opportunity to make a difference and help children to dismantle barriers to education.


This role requires a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or a TA / Behaviour Mentor who has previous experience working with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours.

Job Role:

  • Providing 121 and small group support for student with SEMH needs
  • Providing class support where required and running group activities
  • Effectively managing behaviours and fostering a positive learning environment
  • Understanding a variety of special educational needs and SEMH needs

Requirements:


  • Ideally hold a level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Previous experience supporting children on young people with SEMH needs or special educational needs
  • A Valid DBS that is on the update service, or be willing to get one
  • Understanding of the Teaching Assistant / Classroom Assistant role
