Description
Here at Broxton we have an exciting opportunity for an trainee to join our machining facility.

The role will include full training with our existing team of engineers and operators and would benefit someone with a desire to learn, with a mechanical background possibly with apprentice or engineering training.


Responsible To:
Operations director

Primary Role

  • To receive training on tooling set up techniques.
  • To receive training on machine set up techniques.
  • To develop an understanding of material grades.
  • To train in cutting techniques and methods
  • To be trained on machine control to understand the effects of each function.
  • To assist daily machine operations
  • To be trained on machine adjustments and tool ware.
  • To be trained on the use of measuring equipment.
  • To be trained on engineering drawing standards.
  • Accurately log operation times in real time Shop Floor Data Capture system
- always Work safely and follow all H&S policies and procedures

  • To maintain log of training and development
  • Develop an understanding of machine maintenance and best practice.
Secondary Role

  • Machine maintenance daily, weekly, and monthly checks.
  • Always Keep machine and work area clean and tidy.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement and Health & Safety
The required standard of performance will be attained when:

  • Set up standards are obtained.
  • Machine operation standards are obtained.
  • Basic understanding of tooling/ feed rates is obtained.
  • Good first of rate attained.
  • ISO & H&S procedures are followed.
  • 5s is carried out routinely.

Salary:
From £9.50 per hour
