Salary:
Circa £80,000 dependent on skills and experience + executive benefits, including car allowance and bonus

As part of the Head Office team, you'll be at the heart of this endeavour - working closely with our air, maritime, land and cyber and intelligence businesses to support our customers around the world.


The role gives you a great opportunity to support and participate in all company-wide programmes, including SSNR, TYPE26, AUKUS, and others, giving you exposure to the entire company and allowing you to direct and impact the overall group.


What you'll be doing:


  • Governance of Production Planning and Control policies, processes, and procedures in accordance with the Operational Framework
  • Acting as IM&T System and Manufacturing data set (standard KPI's) owner for the Production Planning systems
  • Identifying risk and opportunities, challenging standard practice across the group
  • Agreeing with Senior Leadership and communicating to wider teams the key performance indicators
  • Creating a Learning, Development and Improvement environment for Production Planning and Control
  • Ensuring the Health, Safety and Environmental compliance of all employees, subcontractors
  • Responsible for compliance with all relevant internal, legislative, regulatory, and contractual requirements for business area
  • Building, maintaining, and facilitating a culture of collaborative working across the group and with other functions
  • Accountable for the job architecture for PP&C and supporting core competencies and learning & Development interventions including professional membership
  • Accountable for identifying current/future skills gaps and develop short/long term resource capability strategies to deliver right people, right time, right SQEP solution

Your skills and experiences:


  • Background within Planning, Logistics or Project Management and an understanding of the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system and all aspects of a Production lifecycle
  • Knowledge and understanding of business operations methodologies, processes, toolsets and governance
  • Experience in leading a large and complex Portfolio
  • Extensive business change and continuous improvement experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of project management governance and business operations and audit
  • Comprehensive understanding of the wider project management environment including developments and best practices
  • Being a role model for our Company Values and demonstrating 'Visible Leadership'
  • Promoting Change Management, including process improvement and waste reduction
  • Building team and individual performance, through coaching
  • Driving engagement and collaboration across your teams and the wider business through the sharing of best practice
  • Significant experience in coaching and supporting leaders
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to clearly articulate information, ideas, establish credibility with stakeholders and adapt to different audiences
  • Excellent understanding of what it takes to ensure an effective business operations culture

As the Head of Production Planning & Control you will ensure that all Production Planning & Control activities undertaken, within their area of responsibility complies with the Operation Framework and that compliance within all Production Planning & Control Policies, processes, and mandates in maintained.
