Support Workers Required Ref 26457


To provide care and support to a fun-loving, engaging and determined 14 year old young person (in her own home) who has a brain injury.


Some relevant experience is required, you must be flexible, and following appropriate training and supervision, you must be able to support the young person who has complex needs.


The role requires sensitivity to the young person's needs (and those of her family) and to work in partnership with therapists and other professionals, to meet her needs and to support her progression and development.


You will undertake a wide range of duties including personal care, supporting the young person to access leisure and community activities, accompanying and supporting the young person on family holidays, supporting with learning and development and promoting the rehabilitation of the young person.


Applicants should be aware that our client will be buying a dog and training it to be a therapy dog and you will be expected to provide support to her through this process, which may involve you working with the dog and client.

Applicants with a fear of dogs should not apply.


Hours of work:

An average of 15 hours per week

13.5 hours per week

Plus 1 x 6 hour Saturday shift per month.


Rate of pay:

Weekday £15.00 per hour

Weekend £19.50 per hour

Bank Holiday Rate £22.50 per hour

Due to the nature of the role an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
