£39,955-£45,708 per annum dependent on experience

Grafton Recruitment are now seeking to appoint a Lead Informatics Business Partner to our public sector client based in Salisbury. The Lead Informatics Business Partner will be responsible for driving data literacy and data governance, embedding theuse of self-service Business Intelligence (BI) and engaging divisions to guide them toward data driven decision making. They will have responsibility for supporting the continued implementation ofanew business intelligence tool for the organisation (PowerBI) and leading a small team of Informatics Business Partners.

Duties of the Lead Informatics Business Partner:

  • To provide support and guidance to the Business Intelligence Team, contributing to the development of the service to ensure that it meets core business objectives.
  • Act as advocate for the promotion and development of information, promoting a culture of informed decision making.
  • Work with the Business Intelligence department to ensure systems are in place to capture the information required considering the needs analysis and any changing statutory requirements.
  • Assist with the development of local information policies to reflect national and local imperatives ensuring these are integral to the strategic direction of the organisation.
  • Assist with the development of SOP's and ensure these are maintained, reducing the risk of single points of failure.
  • Lead on the use of data visualisation tools, such as Power BI, and colleague's education of how to build and use these tools.
  • To lead the team in advising others on the use of analysis and presentation of data.
  • To work closely with information users, especially outside of Informatics, in order that the use of data is well understood and to support the use of business intelligence tools by users outside of the immediate team.
  • To work with clinicians and managers to develop and monitor performance indicators (including directorate dashboards and board reports) which are aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Enhance the internal reporting arrangements currently in place. These will include waiting list (RTT, inpatients, outpatients, diagnostics and cancer) and activity reports.

Experience Required

  • Advanced level of statistical knowledge.
  • At least 2 years' experience in information analysis and interpretation.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of information management and business intelligence.
  • Experience of working in a complex and demanding environment.
  • Experience of mentoring and/or line managing staff.
  • Strong statistical and analytical knowledge, with the ability to interpret and present conclusions, both written and verbal, to a wide range of customers.
  • Experienced in working with and managing complex data sets.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server programming and administration tasks relevant to data processing and transformation.
  • Proficient in the design and use of business intelligence solutions, ideally within Power BI and SharePoint.
  • Good knowledge of advanced features of Microsoft Excel 2010, including writing complex formulae, pivot tables and lookups, to manipulate and present data.
  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise own work within agreed deadlines.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Good knowledge of SPC charts and associated methodology.
