Description

At Sustainable Energy First we are driven to inspire and empower our people to make an environmental and economic difference for themselves, our clients, and the planet.

As a leading energy and utility management consultancy, Sustainable Energy First delivers its core services which include procurement, revenue recovery, compliance support and net zero consultancy alongside its pledge to place economic and environmental sustainability at the heart of its purpose.

This role can be a remote WFH or hybrid, or fully office based, depending on where you are based and how you prefer to work.

Previously named BiU, this is an exciting opportunity to join an established and successful company and make a real impact on a great team.

The BI & Reporting team is responsible for providing valuable insights and analysis from a wide range of data sources, to unlock opportunities and drive informed business decisions for both SE First and our clients.

Primarily working with Power BI, you will design and develop the BI data platform with user-friendly tools and reports, so that relevant information can be efficiently gathered and easily interpreted by the stakeholders.

You will also be supporting the further development of a successful business intelligence function throughout the business, which will become increasingly important as the need to provide data driven sustainability opportunities gains the spotlight.

The role:

  • Design and implement new reports for clients and areas of the business that require management information and/or business intelligence. Working with the relevant stakeholders, the request should be captured, developed, and upgraded/maintained. Support and training should be given to the user on how to use the report and interpret the data.
  • Maintain and upgrade live reports and dashboards that have been developed for clients and departments. The maintenance required is ensuring data is up to date and the relevant people have access to the workspace/dashboard. Upgrading should be done by reasonable request, or if a new feature that would improve functionality is discovered.
  • Design and implement automated versions of client reporting through the Power Platform tools, to create efficient reports that are useful to our clients and our internal analysts.
  • Follow the team's workflow process for the development of new reports within the business. This consists of capturing the design requirements, identifying the best method for delivery, tracking the progress of projects, and using a centralised repository for notes and documents.
  • Support the commercial team by providing specialist demonstrations to potential/existing clients who are interested in bespoke energy management reporting.
  • Support the business in analysing and interpreting relevant data to find internal and external opportunities to help meet sustainability goals.
  • Demonstrate your passion for sustainability by using your BI tools to motivate and engage both colleagues and clients.
  • Update professional knowledge on a regular basis. As Power BI and business intelligence/analysis is a rapidly developing field, the analyst must ensure they keep up to date with new functionality and programs. Familiarity with all relevant aspects of Power BI functionality should be demonstrable, and new features should be included into active BI projects.
  • Support the IT development team with the specification and testing of new reporting functionality built into our inhouse software.
  • Use the company colours/logo/formatting to ensure that all published reports are standardised and consistent with the SE First brand.
  • Be responsible and respectful of data protection, making sure you are careful with how you access the data you're working with and who you share reports with.

In return for your talent, Sustainable Energy First will provide you with a great team environment, award winning people culture and a work day that is challenging and rewarding.

Our managers hold monthly 121 meetings with their teams to help them to succeed and support them in learning and developing.

We offer flexible working, health care cash plan, company pension, subsidised gym membership or equipment, private healthcare, cycle to work scheme, salary sacrifice electric vehicles and all expenses paid trips away for 5,10,15 and 20 year services.

We are a certified Investors in People Silver business, as well as one of the UK's Best Top 100 Companies to work For, 2020 and 2021.
