The Role:

As a Scale-Up Business Advisor, you can make your own powerful contribution to the prosperity and growth of Westminster's economy.

By building meaningful relationships with established businesses, you will help to boost productivity, employment opportunities for local people, innovation and profitability.

Home to around 58,000 businesses, Westminster is known as the start-up and scale-up capital of the UK. We have some 2,000 companies already growing fast and many more with significant scale-up potential.

In this new role, your contribution will complement and enhance the support provided to businesses through the already successful Westminster scale-up programme.

You will act as an account manager, proactively identifying, building and nurturing strong relationships with scale-ups and high growth businesses across the borough.

Through partnership working with a range of stakeholders, you will work with these strategically significant businesses to unlock further economic potential by maximising growth and job creation opportunities.

Spending much of your time out and about in the community, you will deliver bespoke expert consultancy support and advice to businesses and will explore expansion opportunities by brokering collaboration and connecting businesses with a range of local, regional and national support.

Please refer to the
Job Description for more information.

About You:

You're likely to have a substantial background in business consultancy, business advisory, business support or economic development.

You'll be familiar with the business landscape in the London region and nationally, and will be ready to forge relationships with all types of organisations from Business Improvement Districts to major corporations headquartered in the borough.

Above all, you'll need the ability to proactively identify new opportunities and partner with businesses to reach innovative and positive solutions.

You'll have experience of delivering projects right through from scoping to final evaluation, while operating across multiple workstreams.

On a personal level, you're adaptable, empathetic, self-motivated and passionate about delivering the best possible services to our local business community.

A natural communicator, you have extensive stakeholder engagement and management experience, and excellent record-keeping and problem-solving skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a vibrant, dynamic service that supports local businesses across Westminster, and to supercharge your career in the process.

What We Offer:

Westminster is an amazing place.

We are home to more than 200,000 residents from all backgrounds, over 50,000 vibrant and vital businesses and three-quarters-of-a-million people work in Westminster.

Westminster City Council's strategy is to work towards a Fairer Westminster.

A Fairer Westminster is one in which our communities are at the heart of our decision-making and help to determine the city's future.

By working directly with our communities and other partners, we can build a more inclusive city that celebrates our diverse communities, and where residents, workers and visitors from all backgrounds will feel welcome and safe.
