Sensient is looking for a new team member in the Planning Department


As our Domestic Buyer, you will be responsible for the ordering of materials, supplies, and essential equipment to keep our business running You will use your keen communication and organization skills to follow-through with vendors on shipment and delivery against pre-agreed contracts whilst ensuring the contracted price, lead time and quality levels are maintained.

Further, you will use your analytical skills to ensure optimum inventory levels are in place to meet the demands of the businesswow


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Run MRP Reports on a daily basis to determine Raw Material requirements.

Issue Purchase Orders based on report information/ATP up to department limit.

Liaise with EU Purchasing if RM contract not in place (Annual spend > $4,000).

Expedite deliveries.

Monitor supplier performance re. Quality & on time deliveries, reporting to EU Purchasing.

Provide usage and stock information to EU Purchasing as requested to support creation of RM contracts.

Manage ex-works collections.

Run quarterly safety stock review.

Complete local purchasing reviews of NPDs/Commercialization (new business). Report any issues to relevant departments (Technical/EU Purchasing).

Facilitate samples and paperwork from suppliers for new/re introduced raw materials through VIR process.

Manage/Process invoice queries from Finance Dept., liaising with suppliers/internal departments.

Support Mass Replacement project with data and analysis.

Holiday cover for the processing of purchase requisitions for Non RMs/Packaging/Consumables/Engineering.


SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Microsoft Excel competent to Intermediate Level, 'V' Look Up and PivotTables essential.

Ability to report, write and present information to colleagues and leadership.

Ability to confidently manage stakeholders


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Experience in a Purchasing role within a Manufacturing Environment, ideally Food/Flavour/Fragrance Industries

Working experience with MRP systems.

Heading toward or achieved CIPS qualification an advantage
