We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join the Community Living Well Psychological Serivces in Kensington and Chelsea.

We are a large and well established service and are responsible for the provision of Low intensity and High Intensity therapies within the standards of stepped care model at steps 2,3 and 4.

The team consistently meets its access and recovery targets and has recently undergone further expansion to meet new demands and needs of the local population.

The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users.

What Are We Looking For?


You will have qualified, or will be reaching the end of your PWP training course from an accredited PWP training course and have experience of working in primary care.


You will be working within a stepped care model, providing assessments and delivering evidence based low intensity interventions for people with common mental health problems.

Assessments and interventions may be delivered face to face, online or via the telephone and you would also be expected to deliver psycho educational workshops and become involved in other project work as appropriate including working within the local community and establishing links with voluntary service organisations to promote the service.

There are also opportunities to be involved in service development projects.


You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be adaptable, enjoy challenges, diversity and demonstrate an enthusiasm for primary care work.


Psychological Therapies within Community Living Well has rapidly grown and developed, and is in the process of further expansion to meet the growing needs of the local population.

Alongside high and low intensity CBT interventions, the service also has a counselling service at step 3 which provides DIT, IPT, couples counseling, EMDR and generic counselling.

Individual and group based treatments are provided.

We also work alongside step 4 Psychology services as well as Primary Care liaison Nurses, Psychiatrists and Wellbeing services (Employment support, Navigators and Peer Support).

What Do We Offer?


You will receive regular clinical as well as case management supervision and support from senior PWPs and qualified High Intensity therapists.

Community Living Well has close links with other Primary Care Psychological Therapies services within CNWL Foundation Trust and the Trust-wide clinical psychology services.

We offer a Step 2 CPD program to support your career development.


You will be based at the service main hub at St Charles Hospital in Ladbroke Grove but will be required to undertake work at other areas within the borough including the south hub at Gertrude Street and community centres within the borough as appropriate.


You will be expected to participate in extended hours clinics offered by the service which include early morning and late evening clinics from 8 am to 8 pm.

It is a service requirement forall staff to work at least one evening per week until 8pm.

  • Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service and develop care package programmes.
  • Make protocols based assessments of risk to self and others and respond to client risk as appropriate.
  • Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department's referral protocols, refers unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary or stepsup the person's treatment to other forms of psychological therapy or other services where appropriate.
  • Undertakes patientcentred interviews which identify areas where the person wishes to see change
  • Make decisions with people about which appropriate lowintensity intervention would address the client's difficulties and areas where the person wishes to change.
  • Provide a range of information and support for evidence based highvolume lowintensity psychological treatments.
  • Provide a range of highvolume lowintensity psychological treatments based on evidencebased literature and research to support best practice in clinical work. Interventions may include guided selfhelp, computerised CBT and information about pharmacological treatments. Treatment might be individual or in psychoeducational groups.
  • Clinical work may be face to face, telephone or via other media according the choice of the client. Clinical work may take place in GP Practices, community settings on the Primary Care Psychological Health Centres.
  • Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary.
  • Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the overall number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and conv
