Lead Embedded Software Engineer / Firmware Engineer


Location:
Camden, London


Salary:
DOE - Circa £80,000

Working:
Hybrid - 4 days a week in Camden office.

TEC Partners are excited to announce an opportunity to work with an innovative company developing ground-breaking technology to significantly reduce agricultural impact on the environment, whilst upholding animal welfare.

Our client, a London-based startup have been incorporated for 5 years and are on the cusp of turning an idea into a reality.

The business have just been through funding, R&D phase, and are entering manufacturing. With a client list already established, theyoung company are at an exciting phase of development. The business set out to address the climate crisis by attempting to make farming more sustainable.

We're looking for a lead software engineer / firmware engineer to support the companies firmware development of a low-power radio and sensor PCB integrated into a wearable device.

Reporting to the head of software you will play a key role in the development of high quality PCB designs and testable firmware.


Skills:


  • Altium
  • C/C++ for embedded microcontrollers
  • Low power radio integration (Zibgee, BT or LoRa etc)
  • Product compliance (CE / FCC), testing documentation and certification.

Any experience with the following would be great:

  • Python Programming
  • Linux experience
  • Build automation
  • Agile environment.

Day-to-day responsibilities:


  • Selection of components and circuit design in light with cost and design requirements.
  • Selection & modification of firmware stack (LoRa)
  • PCB layout and schematic entry using Altium
  • Hardware testing for requirements and compliance
  • Unit testing for device firmware during development
  • Developing code with attention to power consumption, reliability, features and code structure.
  • Writing clean code, with clear source control and documentation.
