We are seeking an enthusiastic new Operations Officer who is ready to play an important role at our Outdoor Activity Centre on the Southwestern shores of Windermere.

It is an exciting time at YMCA Lakeside as we look to grow our operations on the back of a recent £6.5m development.

You will be part of our Programme Delivery Team that is integral to delivering inspiring residential programmes for young people.

As Operations Officer you will work with the Programme Delivery Team and Sales and Marketing Team to plan, design and resources high quality and safe residential programmes.


As Operations Officer, your day will consist of:

  • Working with the Senior Operations Manager, ensuring that Programme delivery at Lakeside operates safely and effectively.
  • Liaising with the Sales and Marketing Team to plan, design and resource programmes.
  • Ensuring that each programme has all background information available to the instructor team, including dietary requirements, care needs, any safeguarding concerns etc.
  • Working alongside Senior Instructors, ensuring that the Programme Delivery team are utilised effectively and sustainably, taking into account the needs of clients, the balance of the programme and the staff working time and wellbeing.
  • Working alongside the HR team, supporting the administration of the annual recruitment of the seasonal instructor team.
  • Managing the associate pool to ensure that there is appropriate resource to support the Programme.
  • Report regularly on utilisation, time and resource allocation to support the planning and management of all aspects of programme delivery.
  • Taking a leadership role in managing and operating the Resource Management System (Cinolla) ensuring that the system is maintained and updated in line with best practice.

  • You have excellent knowledge of Microsoft 36
  • You have demonstrable experience of negotiation with customers and colleagues
  • You have experience of logístical resourcing and planning
  • You have a good understanding of the importance of health and safety
  • You can demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • You are motivated and committed to providing exceptional outdoor learning experiences for all those who visit YMCA Lakeside
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
