Working with teams across Fera you will be responsible for designing, managing and completing environmental, economic and social life cycle assessments and assessing the sustainability of existing and emerging technologies and products in the agri-food sector.
Working with our clients you will help them to assess and understand the impact of technologies on the implementation of their sustainability and net zero plans.
The Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) Specialist will serve as in-house technical expertise for the development of tools, products and services building on LCA, and the delivery of consulting work addressing innovative approaches in the context of environmental markets and reporting frameworks.

What you'll be doing
- Working with teams across Fera on projects that examine the sustainability of existing and emerging technologies in the agrifood sector
- Research to help advance life cycle and related approaches needed to improve the assessment of environmental, social and economic impacts of existing and emerging technologies in the agrifood area
- Contributing to the development of specifications for the design and prototyping of an LCA toolset applied to customised client requirements
- Conducting a variety of life cycle analyses to support the delivery of client sustainability solutions
- Meeting with customers to define needs and scope for assessments
- Providing written reports of assessments
- Preparing clear and compelling market intelligence reports on innovative approaches to environmental foot printing
What we're looking for
- PhD or Master's degree in environmental science or similar discipline, with a specialization in LCA or ability to illustrate how techniques van be applied to this sector
- Experience of life cycle assessment or relevant sustainability experience in the agrifood sector
- An understanding of the impacts of changes in the national and international environmental sector and the implications for LCA
- Experience of working with LCA software, familiarity with LCA databases (e.g. Ecoinvent, etc.) and indepth knowledge of database management
- Familiarity with LCA standards & guidelines (e.g. ISO 14040/44)
- Usercentric impact assessment
- Familiarity with climate change reporting frameworks (e.g. GHG Protocol, SBTi, etc.)
- Clear communication of LCA approaches and results to a range of stakeholders
- Ability to work with a diverse range of expert
