We are seeking a full time Head of Flight Trials.


The role is primarily based at Doncaster alongside Capability Development's Part 21J organisation and will involve occasional travel to other locations to support operational demands.

The role's key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Responsible for the professional conduct and output of Cap Dev Trials personnel in accordance with the Organisation's processes and procedures to meet customers' expectations
  • Ensure appropriate levels of resource to safely and efficiently deliver the Cap Dev Trials service set within agreed budgets or communicate additional resource requirements
  • Oversee security for Cap Dev Trials
  • Coordinating with other departments within the company to ensure Trials' efficiency
  • Communicate at all levels and intelligently support other Team members at meetings with Clients, including Senior Military and Government personnel
  • Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the Company Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Handbook
  • Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the Cap Dev Processes as detailed in the Project Management Handbook (PMH), Quality Manual and the Trials Process Manual
  • An emotionally intelligent, resilient, analytical, and motivated leader and team player with excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • A demonstrable knowledge of flight trial's philosophy and best practices from an operational evaluation, flight test of AeroSystems background
  • Demonstrable experience of project management, or similar supportfunction experience, in a fastpaced and rapidly changing aviation environment
  • Knowledge of civilian flight operations and airworthiness regulation, risk and safety management
  • Knowledge of military flight operations and regulation
  • Knowledge of Part 21 and/or Part 145 regulations or a willingness to undertake training to become competent in these areas
  • Experience in Bidwriting, Non-Disclosure Agreements and Contracts
  • Good Microsoft Office skills


In addition, applicants will have to prove automatic right to work in the UK, whilst holding or be eligible to obtain a UK security clearance.
