Description
A fast growing credit and special situations fund is seeking to appoint their first Fund Controller in a wide ranging role that offers oodles of long term career potential.
With a boutique and high performing culture, this is an ideal opportunity for anexperienced fund controller coming from a closed end funds background (either in-house or with a service provider) to join this firecracker of a fund, working hand in glove with their CFO to build out funds finance and operations.
Responsibilities:
_General_
- Fund controller for various closed ended funds
- Principal point of contact with administrator; reviewing work produced by the administrator's accounting team
- Frequent catch ups to inform Luxembourg staff of new deals / upcoming sales / reporting deadlines
- Setting up fund schedules and processes for ongoing operations
- Internal reporting to the Board
_Day to day fund management_
- Check capital call and distribution notices and review cash allocation schedules
- Oversight of Capital Call Facility
- Fund level cash management and forecasting
- Review waterfall and equalisation calculations
- Monitoring and managing hedging
- Monitoring booking and cash flows for new investments and exits
_Reporting_
- Liaise with administrator in respect of Fund Financials
- Assist COO with Investor Questionnaires and ad hoc queries
- Monitor investor reporting ensuring all is in line with LPA and side letters
- Check management fee calculations
- Run annual audit process
- Maintain fund track records
- Complete deal level and investor level performance calculations
- Assist investment team with verification of quarterly valuations and IRR calculations
Your background:
- Fully qualified accountant and likely to be at least 5 years PQE or equivalent
- Experienced in Fund Accounting with particular emphasis on private, closed end fund vehicles
- Ability to interact and manage third party service providers, specifically Administrator and financing relationships
- Comfortable with fund performance calculations, management fee and carry calculations and projections, cash flow forecasts and models
- Experienced in investor level and deal level performance calculations
- Possess high levels of attention to detail/accuracy
- Discretion with sensitive information
- Ability to prioritize competing workflows effectively
- Calm and measured under time pressure
