Description
We are looking for a Control and Instrument Maintenance Technician for a pharmaceutical client based in Northumberland. There is a starting salary of £37,000 with a £4,000 shift allowance.

The Role

  • Carry out diagnosis and correction of instrumentation, electronic and control issues relating to both process and facilities equipment located on site
  • Carry out calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems
  • Accountable for Maintaining and documenting maintenance work and improving maintenance procedures in compliance with GMP
  • Manage critical spare parts ensuring availability of operationally good components and costeffective supply
  • Support in the compilation and completion of Validation of New and changes to existing equipment
  • Participates in risk assessments as required

Required Experience

  • Served a recognized apprenticeship in Control and Instrument Engineering and have attained an HNC or equivalent in Control and Instrument Engineering or similar
  • Calibration of Instrumentation
  • PLC / SCADA Controls
  • DSEAR / Atex
  • GMP / Pharmaceutical / Chemical Manufacture (preferred)
  • Have the required competencies to assemble, install, carry out preventative maintenance, repair, diagnose faults and remove and replace, and dissemble instrumentation and control systems and their associated system components
  • Understand which tools and equipment to use, and when, and will follow relevant training, methods and techniques and quality control and safety procedures for their use.
  • Understand the types of defects and testing anomalies that can occur, how to identify them, and what action to take.
  • Be able to read and interpret relevant engineering drawings, related specifications, quality standards and equipment manuals, and to follow work instructions and relevant plans and schedules.
  • Understand the preparation and reinstatement requirements in respect of the work area, materials and equipment, and the possible consequences of incorrect actions in these areas.
  • Understand the relevant legislative, regulatory, and local requirements or procedures and safe working practices, including their responsibilities with regards to reporting lines and procedures.
