Role and Responsibilities (brief description)-

A Traffic/Transport Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods and people by managing and coordinating transportation operations.

Customer Service

  • Day 1, Checking, routing, maintaining & problem solving
  • Dispatch trucks in both day 1 and then to follow onto day
  • Liaising with the port expediters/supervisors ensuring jobs are being dispatched correctly.
  • Assist with day 2 planning when required (setting up day men / homework floats etc)
  • Noting up drivers including arranging parking and night out procedure
  • CS assistance liaising with CS team regarding daytoday issues.
  • Work with port supervisors regarding driver/truck allocations
  • Liaising with HR regarding driver issues
  • Liaising with Fleet regarding services trucks and trailers
  • General screen maintenance and close down for the week.

Requirements:


  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
  • Proficiency with transportation management software and GPS systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Flexibility in work hours, as some positions may require shift work or oncall availability.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced, often highpressure environment.
  • Problemsolving and critical thinking abilities.

Salary dependent on experience - between £32-£36,000
