To be considered for the role, you'll require the following essentials:

  • Educated to A Level/NVQ3 level or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
  • Experience of rota filling
  • Experience of using databases
  • Previous experience of working in a hospital/healthcare setting
  • Good understanding of the NHS environment, particularly in relation to recruitment of clinicians
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Ability to quickly build excellent working relations with all levels of staff and external agencies
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Able to work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Able and willing to work over a 7day pattern
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed
  • Displays tact and diplomacy at all times

Within this position, you'll be:


  • Manage clinical rotas for specified services
  • Responsible for ensuring 100% rota fill at all times to ensure the services are resourced to the required levels each day
  • Responsible for keeping Rotamaster up to date and ensuring payments and staff are added in correctly to support a smooth payroll process
  • Building excellent relationships with clinical staff to be able to persuade them to cover adhoc short notice shifts and Agencies to be able to achieve last minute rota cover
  • Working to cover rotas three months in advance to maintain stability and efficiency
  • Ensuring a weekly contingency in place
  • Escalating in a timely manner difficult to fill vacant shifts with actions already taken
  • Developing good working relationships and good communication lines between the local management teams for the specified services
  • Working with the recruitment team to get new clinicians into the rotas as quickly and as smoothly as possible
  • Working closely with other members of central rota team to be able to provide support for other services at weekends and evenings
  • Working closely with Lead clinicians to approve new agency staff, taking responsibility for ensuring all key pre employment documents are available and stored in the rota management system.
  • Providing daily and weekly updates to the Service Manager's on rota fill
**Salary & Working Hours

  • Pay Rate £14.10 per hour
  • Hybrid working 23 days in the office
  • Full Time
