Working hours:
Full Time, 37.5 hours per week


Shift pattern:
You will be on rota, working 12 hour-shifts. Your shifts throughout the year will include weekends and bank holidays.


Here at Serco we work with Asylum Accommodation and Support Services to assist individuals through the asylum system, which includes providing them with temporary accommodation.

AASC contracts offer a range of improvements, with a particular focus on assisting individuals through the asylum system.

They will ensure that vulnerable asylum seekers have access to the support they need and set clear requirements on the standard and condition of accommodation.


As a Shift Team Leader you will be required to build effective relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally across the AASC contract to ensure excellent service delivery standards.

You will maintain data integrity of the IT systems to support performance reporting and you will be required to produce reports, briefings and information updates to a high standard within limited timeframe.


You will be responsible for scheduling and allocating workflows for collecting and transporting service users, as required by the contract.

You will be required to identify and action any void properties that require input from housing or maintenance teams to prepare for reuse.

You will ensure timely responses and updates are received from internal and external repairs operatives.


Some other key accountabilities include:

  • Liaise with landlords, local authorities, contractors and Serco staff as required
  • Liaise with the customer to identify and allocate appropriate accommodation for vulnerable persons and those with special needs or those deemed to be at risk
  • Provide guidance to Service Delivery Coordinators in relation to difficult/unusual requests
  • Liaise with Property Negotiators and organise, schedule and chase outstanding works for the onboarding of new properties.

What you need to do the job
You will need strong knowledge of current Service Delivery Procedures. You should have good understanding of the contracts Key Performance Indicators.

You should demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to manage and deliver a variety of priority tasks, prioritising own workload to meet specific timescales without prompt.

Lastly, you should have strong ICT skills.
