Within this role you will ensure that Study Group and the College are fully compliant with its obligations as they relate to the issuing of Student visas as a UKVI Sponsor with a track record of exemplary compliance.


Work closely with colleagues across the Student Experience Team to provide guidance and expertise for both students and staff for all matters concerning the UK Home Office and student visas.


Keep up to date with changes to UKVI policy and implement local processes to meet the needs of all stakeholders.

Provide customer service to students around the collection and distribution of visa-related documentation.

Audit and accuracy check data and documents in the College to ensure compliance with UKVI regulations.


ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Communicate with appropriate and relevant colleagues and students to ensure compliance with the UKVI rules and regulations, taking advice from the College's Head of Compliance as required.
  • Ensure all Compliance aspects of the student registration process are followed enabling students to commence their studies in a timely manner.

This includes but is not exhaustive:

  • Accurately record and check all incoming Biometric Residence Permits (BRPs) received into the College.
  • Ensure all relevant information is scanned into the College IT systems always ensuring accuracy.
  • Report any BRPs errors to the UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) Department in line with agreed processes and procedures.
  • Maintain information and records in the Student Management Systems or other systems as required.
  • Ensure student records are updated with key information, relevant documentation is uploaded and that quality audits are undertaken for accuracy and missing information.
  • Monitor expiry dates for student visas, and passports and support students in their renewal.
  • Supporting students in reporting lost visas and passports and obtaining replacements.
  • To lead on data quality audits to always ensure compliance pertaining to Student visas and UKVI Sponsor Compliance.
  • Utilize visa and compliance training platform (Insendi) and undertake training both in person and online.
  • Work with your counterpart within the Student Experience (Compliance) Team who leads on the other areas of responsibility within the team ensuring there is always an adequate level of support.
  • Deputise, along with the Student Experience Compliance Coordinator, for the Head of Compliance, as and when required.
  • Providing resources and support for other teams within Student Experience, as and when required

ABOUT YOU

  • Educated to GCSE English & Maths or equivalent or substantial professional experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders, written and verbal, internal and external.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external colleagues.
  • Ability to consider potential issues and put measures in place to deal with implications.
  • Excellent IT and data management skills including competency in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Docs and a willingness to learn and adopt new technologies
  • Ability to extract reports and analyse data for reporting, to aid decision making or to support a case for change.
  • A commitment to working with the head of function to improve the team's performance and the ability to provide constructive feedback to colleagues about their work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across functional areas, adopting a flexible working style.
  • Experience in making judgements on administrative support requirements with the ability to choose an approach that coordinates the workload within the office.
  • Ability to complete complex processes independently and to supervise the Registry and Operations Team to follow instructions to achieve key deadlines.
