Our Events Day Support Volunteers play an important role in making people feel valued when supporting the British Red Cross The British Red Cross arrange and support a large number of events across the country and virtually and we need your help to make these possible.

Use your voice and energy to support at amazing events.

British Red Cross are very excited to have a team of cyclists taking part in RideLondon on Sunday 28th May.

We are still in the process of confirming details, but we are looking for volunteers to support at our cheer point in shifts between 8:00am and 3:00pm.

We need cheerers to help spot and cheer on the cyclists. We are also looking for volunteers to support at our post-race reception which will be from 11-4pm.

Here we will be giving cyclists a massive thank you and well done, and providing shower facilities and light refreshments.

Both roles will be in Central London and a full brief will be provided. Volunteers will also receive a Red Cross T shirt. We look forward to meeting you Please note that selected events will be available to over 18's only.

Why we want you:
Across the UK we host lots of different events which need help on the day. Selling raffle tickets at a Christmas market, signing in hikers on their way up Snowdon, or cheering on amazing runners from side-lines at the London Marathon
- there are lots of ways to get involved by joining at the events which suit you, you can give Red Cross supporters a really special experience

  • Tasks:
Exact activities will vary according to the type of event you are supporting, but can include:

  • Supporting event participants
  • cheering and encouraging people on route or welcoming them at post-race events
  • Providing refreshments
  • Selling raffle tickets
  • Signing people into their events
  • Active promotion of the British Red Cross and what we do
  • Skills: Enthusiasm and energy
  • Desire to give our supporters a unique and fun experience
  • An interest in the event
