We have an opportunity for an apprentice to join us, working within a team on our Gloucestershire Highway Contract for the local County Council, where we maintain their roads and footways; carrying out small repairs through to highway maintenance schemes, working right at the heart of communities.

What you will do in your working day

Your duties will include:

Deliver highways works efficiently and safely for the local area
Work as part of a team to deliver reactive, emergency and other types of highways works in all weathers
Be responsible for onsite Health and Safety at all times
Routine and reactive repairs, emergency call out and winter maintenance (gritting)
Out of hours standby (on a rota basis)

The training you will be getting
Groundworker Apprenticeship Standard Level 2. Apprentices will attend college on block release.

Theory lessons will be reinforced in the workplace and practical skills will be practiced and enhanced in college and the workplace.

This can be supported by some remote delivery if required.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
Potential position upon completion of the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 93/A*D)

GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 9-3/A*-D)

Monday to Friday 07:45 to 16:30
