Are you a strong player in the world of Underwriting, with prior experience in Insurance? Are you looking to broaden your Underwriting skillset further? If so, we are working on a fantastic opportunity with a global Insurance Brand to source them an Underwriter as soon as possible.

This position is based in the firm's Leeds offices, offering a hybrid-working model and strong growth progressions within the Firm.

You will responsible for providing and maintaining a high level of underwriting, ensuring risks are underwritten and that the business's brokers are supported through excellent timekeeping on various renewals and mid-term adjustments.

You will be regularly handling renewal cases, working as appropriate with the broker to ensure and cross-sell any additional relevant cover, as well as meeting with the wider Underwriting side of the business to provide your own insight on key market trends.

Some responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a high level of underwriting, understanding company procedures and guidelines in doing so
  • Building strong rapport within the Technical team in Leeds, as well as the wider business
  • Following up renewals and adjustments with brokers in order to ensure business is secured
  • Utilising strong IT skills to adjust to new platforms, including our broker etrading platform
The right person for this role will have demonstrable experience in the Underwriting space, with relevant Insurance underwriting experience.

What will be particularly advantageous in this role is a prior background in our particular classes of business, though this is not essential.

Strong written, communication and numerical skills will also be of benefit. They will need to have a thorough understanding of regulations and methods.
