My client a local authority in South Yorkshire has an excellent interim opportunity for a Head of Legal Services - This will be for 6-8 months and is looking to pay around £600 upwards per day inside of IR35.The role will be hybrid with flexibilityof two days a week to work from home if you wish.


They are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and committed Head of Legal Services to lead the service and provide the very best outcomes for the council.

About the post


As a Head of Legal Services, you'll ensure a comprehensive, specialist legal service is provided to the Council and its main partner joint authority.

This is a richly varied and rewarding role.

You will be expected to develop the service to meet the changingneeds and demands of the Council as part of a wider transformation agenda, take responsibility for budget management and income generation as well as being the Council's Deputy Monitoring Officer and Fire Authority Monitoring Officer.

You will provide bothprofessional advice and challenge to our services and will demonstrate a flair for liaising, negotiating, influencing, and collaborating with people at all levels throughout the council, particularly senior managers, and Elected Members.

Along the way, you'llcontinue to learn and develop professionally.


About you


Are you passionate about legal services and helping people and communities? If so, then this is the perfect role for you.

**To be successful for this role you'll either be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive (CILEx). You'll have relevant legal and managerial experience ideally in local government. You'll show a commitment to contributing to achievingour priorities and ambitions. Taking pride in what we do by demonstrating our values of honesty, teamwork, and excellent service.
