    Senior Electrical Engineer - HS2 Gateway Station

    The Anthro joint venture between Egis and VVB Engineering has been awarded a multi-year contract to deliver MEPHFC (Mechanical, Electrical Public Health, Fire and Communications) systems works for London's state-of-the-art HS2 gateway station at Old Oak Common.

    About the Role

    As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key part in our dynamic team with big ambitions. You will be based 1 day on site in Old Oak Common (West London) and 2 days in our Waterloo office.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Undertake the DPE role and prepare technical submittals for client approval
    • Produce electrical designs to project requirements and develop design from feasibility up to As Built
    • Create design proposals and sketches for agreement with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, suppliers etc.
    • Write project communications such as Requests For Information (RFI's) & meeting minutes
    • Maintain trackers, registers and schedules
    • Carry out design reviews and work to design assurance processes
    • Support and help develop less experienced members of the team
    • Nurture a 'get it right first time' culture within the team

    Person Specification, Experience & Knowledge

    • Electrical Engineering qualification and extensive professional experience
    • Experience in rail station electrical services design and coordination
    • Experience of working in an engineering production environment
    • Multi-disciplinary design and coordination experience, delivering projects to a high quality throughout all design stages
    • Experience of working with 3D models in a BIM environment
    • Ability to find solutions to engineering problems
    • Manage design interfaces and integration processes
    • Good knowledge of British Standards and Regulations, and Rail Standards, such as Network Rail, HS2 and TfL
    • Understanding of project scopes, requirements, works information, and commercial awareness
    • Deliver work to a programme and budget
    • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
    • Work as part of a team and on own initiative
    • Lead meetings and present to clients, stakeholders, colleagues, subcontractors, suppliers etc.
    • Excellent understanding of electrical systems from a technical, design, installation, buildability, and maintainability perspective
    • Proficient in engineering software tools including Trimble/Amtech Pro Design, Dialux or Relux
    • Awareness of procurement activities and lead times
    • Commitment to professional development and staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in rail design and engineering

    Desirable Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Services Engineering or Building Services Engineering
    • Experience in electrical project engineering or similar role
    • Strong understanding of electrical systems from a design or construction perspective
    • Capable of working as part of a team and on own initiative
    • Good knowledge of current electrical, fire alarm and emergency lighting standards
    • Knowledge of key engineering software packages such as Dialux or Relux, Amtech and Navisworks is desirable but not essential
