The Communications team is therefore at the heart of the business, ensuring an on-going, high quality, consistent message is created for CITB and it's product and services.

The role will be a catalyst of change and significantly contribute to building our marketing capability. The Business Partners of Marketing Communications will report directly to the Head of Communications.

They will be the main relationship lead into their designated area of the business to create integrated communications plans and solutions that meet business challenges, goals and support key projects.


The role requires working with other senior members of the Comms & CX team to collectively plan how to deliver CITB's short and long term communication goals, as well as the customer experience team who deliver insight and digital channels developments.

As multi
- skilled marketers, they will provide expertise across traditional communication disciplines, core campaign management planning, identify best practice learnings and drive a clear prioritisation for effective and timely delivery of plans. The role also aligns closely with the Strategic Planner / Resource Manager across strong agency resources and budget management, collectively managing internal and external team resources, setting clear priorities and sequencing across core strategic initiatives and tactical activities, to effectively manage the monthly, quarterly and annual comms activity plans (brand comms across internal & external audiences and customer communications for products & services).


The Business Partner will work also with the Head of Comms to drive up effectiveness and best practice across the team; driving continual improvements in campaign media planning, optimisation and reporting, agency resource planning, briefing and performance management, budget management, project management disciplines, and agile ways of working.


Knowledge and Experience:


Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent vocational qualification or experience.
  • Proven experience in marketing communications or a related role a senior 'veteran' marketer with solid strategic and operational experience in working within an multichannel, medium sized marketing function or agency managing complex business needs, driving innovation and best practice.
  • Strong strategic thinking and expert knowledge and experience of all marketing disciplines (on and offline comms, digital channels, insight & CRM), measurement and best practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with proven experience of driving impact/ROI and marketing effectiveness
  • Excellent stakeholder management engagement skills, with the ability to get buy in to ideas, change and detailed plans.
  • Strong financial, analytical and budget management skills. Experience on handling media budget in excess of £2m.

  • Proficiency in using various marketing and analytics tools desire to upskill with latest technological campaign management tools.
  • Passionate about marketing strategies and delivering great business results. Ability to make the complex simple.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build productive team relationships an amazing cross functional leadership to develop a plan and getting disparate groups to work together to get things done.
  • Resilience to be challenged to ensure focus is maintained and an efficient and effective team is developed.
  • Effective negotiation, problem solver and strong communication skills to a senior audience
  • Experience of analytical software tools and reporting techniques
  • Ability to analyse, organise and prioritise work whilst meeting multiple deadline

Special Conditions/Other Requirements:

Work from home, occasional travel to agencies in London and average twice a month in Peterborough head office.
