We are recruiting an IT service owner who can manage user groups and small projects to enhance our offering to our clients and colleagues.

You will need to be patient and organised as well as personable and approachable to succeed in this role.

About the job:


The IT Service Owner will act as the owner of key services relied on to manage volunteer and clinical data in a secure manner.

The role will require an organised individual to manage user groups, gather requirements and a backlog of work which may require the management of small projects.

The role will also need to build good understanding of the systems to the level they can provide support and guidance to end users as well as provide training for groups of users and externals when required.


About you:

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience of owning or managing an IT service/enterprise scale system.
  • Experience of supporting users in a customer focused IT environment
  • Good analysis skills with ability to understand issues and document them clearly.
  • Ability to understand the use of an IT system to an advanced user level and the drive to learn and keep knowledge of that system up to date.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This appointment is full-time, 36.5 hours per week; part-time will be considered. Work-life balance is important, and we are open to discussion on flexible working, including hybrid working.

The post is available on a fixed-term basis until 30 November 2024 in the first instance. NIHR BioResource is funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR) on a 5-year funding cycle. It has been announced recently that NIHR BioResource will receive new funding for the next 5 year period.
