Job Description:


Position Title:
Junior Psychiatrist


Clinical Duties:
Conducting psychiatric assessments and evaluations of patients.
Formulating diagnoses and developing treatment plans.
Providing ongoing psychiatric treatment, including medication management and therapy.
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, social workers, and psychologists.


Patient Care:
Monitoring and reviewing the progress of patients under your care.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of patients, particularly those at risk of self-harm or harm to others.
Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and coordinate care.


Documentation and Record-Keeping:
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with NHS guidelines.
Recording treatment plans, progress notes, and any relevant information.


Education and Training:
Participating in educational and training activities to stay updated on the latest developments in psychiatry.
Providing education to patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.


Team Collaboration:
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals within the NHS, including primary care physicians, psychologists, occupational therapists, and others.
Participating in case conferences and meetings to discuss complex cases and treatment strategies.


Adherence to Policies and Guidelines:
Adhering to NHS policies, protocols, and guidelines related to psychiatric care.
Ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards in patient care.


Professional Development:
Engaging in continuous professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Pursuing relevant certifications or further education as needed.


Emergency Response:
Responding to psychiatric emergencies and crises, both within and outside regular working hours.


Quality Improvement:
Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall standard of psychiatric care within the NHS.


Research (Optional):Some junior psychiatrists may have the opportunity to engage in clinical research projects, contributing to the advancement of psychiatric knowledge.


Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm


Salary:
£45.00-£50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
