Hours per week: 30 to 37.5 (Part time considered)

Hourly rate of pay:
£14.22/hr £27,805.25/annum pro rata

Due to a fresh revision of the structure of the PCN, this new and exciting role has been created to support the service provision of across the PCN in order to maximise achievement against local and national contractual requirements and support the services being provided to the patient population of Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme PCN.


Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme PCN is a PCN with population of 58,000 patients and covers the five GP Practices in the area; Bramhall Health Centre, Bramhall Park and Shaw Heath, The Village Bramhall, Cheadle Hulme Medical Group and Hulme Hall Medical Group.

This role will support all practices.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone with extensive administrative experience who is used to working at a senior level and is comfortable supporting Board functions is able to make suggestions to new or current processes and who really can be tenacious and give projects momentum and energy.

This person must be able to work with and assimilate complex information and be competent writing professional reports.


Job Description:


Purpose of the role:


To support all key activity across the PCN; supporting the PCN Leadership team by co ordinating activity and providing an efficient, well organised administrative service to ensure effective timely delivery of the PCN objectives.


The Project Support Officer will also provide support directly to the Chief Operating Officer and Clinical Director across a range of Project, HR, Events and administrative tasks and co ordination.


The Project Support Officer will have responsibility for meeting organisation; inviting relevant attendees, working with the COO and CD to set the Agendas, and manage the minuting of the meetings and the follow up of any actions arising.


To facilitate high quality projects, services, financial and administrative support to the COO and CD and to provide information and analysis to support the delivery of services.

Assist the COO and CD with the implementation, progress management and review of
PCN Projects and contractual compliance.

Be part of wider discussions and decision making with the COO, CD and PCN Board.


Key activities and responsibilities:

  • To create, manage and maintain a programme tracker of all ongoing PCN
Projects; regularly liaising with COO and CD to maintain momentum and progress projects


  • Write and maintain reports, risk registers and project plans to be made available to key stakeholders, including boards and committees
  • Work with the COO to complete national toolkit submissions such as Estates toolkits, Data Protection toolkits
  • Support the COO in the development of effective corporate governance arrangements and the PCN compliance functions
  • Support the review of the PCN's policies and procedures to ensure these remain fit for purpose and account for current guidance and legislative requirements.
  • Lead recruitment processes by producing job descriptions and advertising for
PCN roles including the management of shortlisting and interviewing for appropriate positions alongside the COO


  • Work under the supervision of the COO in the support of HR processes including pre-employment checks, new starter documentation, and induction programmes, ongoing Sickness recording, appraisals, mandatory training, annual leave recording etc.
  • Manage the team HR portal to support all HR recording and reporting purposes
  • Responsibility for having management oversight of ordering of consumables, receiving deliveries and stock to the network and setting up and maintaining an accurate record and stock system
  • Manage a central electronic documentation storage system on MS Teams requiring the saving/scanning and filing of all documents
  • Work with PCN Leadership team on monitoring contractual obligations and statistics and actively reporting on work trackers
  • Be the first point of contact for any direct PCN service related patient queries or complaints
  • Along with the COO, devise a full complaints process and procedure for PCN service complaints; maintaining any logs and reporting centrally any data requirements
  • Keep logs from any PCN Services of any arising significant events - ensuring they are fully tracked and actions concluded
  • Manage venue bookings for events and associated other services required
  • Organisation of PCN Board and committee meetings for internal and external attendees; scheduling meetings, inviting relevant parties, arranging refreshments, attending the meetings to minute
