We have an exciting part-time vacancy ( 30 hours per week) to cover Maternity Leave for 12 months in both Paediatric Special Needs (Early Years only) and Adult Learning Disability years).
The Milton Keynes Speech and Language Therapy service is well established both within an integrated, multidisciplinary Social Care ALD Team and within the Children's Community Services team at the Child Development Centre.
Post
- Graduate dysphagia experience is desirable for this post but not essential.
Within the Early Years CDC team:
Comprehensive assessment of the child's needs and skills whilst taking a personalised approach to support that considers the parents' aspirations.
Assessment of the needs of the parents/carers and their aspirations for their child.Planning and carrying out evidence-based interventions with and for children and parents in settings
Alongside the team, participating in maintaining and developing excellence in clinical practice within relevant areas of the service.
Within the ALD Team
Assessment, treatment and management of service users' speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) associated with Learning Disability in a range of settings.
Assessment, treatment and management of dysphagia in service users with a learning disability ( desirable only).

Milton Keynes is a growing and vibrant city with easy access to the M1 and superb facilities in terms of everyday living and leisure activities.
It is a leafy, green city with many parklands alongside the famous concrete cows The surrounding areas also provide affordable accommodation.
It is easy to get around by car and you generally will not have to travel more than 15 minutes to appointments thanks to the dual roads and grid system.
Access to own transport is essential as you may be travelling around the locality as part of your job role.
