Job overview:


This is an exciting opportunity for clinicians to work within the Major Trauma Service at Salford Royal and continue to gain experience within their career specialty.


The post has a tenure of 12 months, although this may be extended if the post holder wishes to continue in the department.


Main duties of the job:

Trauma Assessment Unit is an 18-beded unit caring for patients with multisystem Major Trauma injuries. The unit receives patients from ED, critical care, and hospitals throughout the Greater Manchester Area. Patients may have a variety of multisystem injuries, including Neurosurgical, Spinal, Thoracic, Abdominal and MSK trauma.

The post holder will form part of the Major Trauma team to provide clinical assessment and support to the care and treatment of a diverse and undetermined caseload of patients requiring Major Trauma care, who may have highly complex acute presentation from the very sick seriously ill or injured patient to the more minor common illnesses and injuries.

They will determine clinical diagnosis and treatments indicated, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
