Description

SEND Teaching Assistant

SupplyGo are actively seeking dedicated, and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistants to work with us We are currently working with a high volume of Special Educational Needs Schools across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire who are actively recruiting for supply staff to work with one of them on a full-time basis from September.

All the schools we work with have a large intake of children that have Special Education Needs and Disabilities and require regular long-term cover to support these needs.

The roles completely vary in terms of the SEN support that is required and each school needs flexible, reliable, and consistent faces to help support these needs.

The needs of these schools vary as no two schools are the same, but the duties remain similar.

We are looking for staff who are willing to undertake the following;

  • Supporting schoolwork under the supervision of the teacher.
  • Preparing learning resources.
  • Encouraging children's confidence, self esteem and independence.
  • Helping children understand instructions, through repetition, rephrasing or demonstrating.
  • Putting into practice individual education, social, behavioural, and personal care programmes.
  • Encouraging children to communicate with one another and with staff.
  • Providing feedback and assistance to teachers.
  • Supporting children in social activities and on outings.
  • Assisting children during therapy sessions.
  • Recognising signs of distress in children and offering reassurance.
  • Attending to pupils' physical needs.
  • Completing records.

You will be willing to work with vulnerable children and strive to make a positive impact on their lives through your work in the classroom.
