We have an exciting opportunity for you


We are seeking exceptional Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) with a working knowledge of SLD (Severe Learning difficulties) and Autism to join our dedicated school team.

As an HLTA, you will play a crucial role in our partnering school, stepping up to cover teacher's PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) time across various classes.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Step into classrooms across different year groups and effectively manage the learning environment during teacher's PPA time.
  • Utilise your working knowledge of SLD/Autism to provide targeted support and assistance to students, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement personalised learning plans and adapt curriculum materials, promoting inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, empowering them to reach their full potential and promoting their social and emotional development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, observations, and any interventions provided.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:


  • Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent experience working as a HLTA, demonstrating your expertise in supporting teaching and learning.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of SLD and Autism, enabling you to effectively support students with diverse needs.
  • Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, establishing strong rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Exhibit adaptability and flexibility, being able to step into various classrooms and quickly familiarise yourself with different teaching approaches and student needs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development, keeping uptodate with the latest research, strategies, and interventions in the field of special education.

Job Types:
Full-time, Temporary contract

Contract length: 12 months


Salary:
£105.00-£110.00 per day


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Liverpool: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:


  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:


  • Special education: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
