Texo Recruitment are delighted to be sourcing on behalf of our external client, based within Aberdeen, for a Assistant Buyer/Buyer to join a fast growing logistics company.


Purpose of the Buyer:


Ensuring a cohesive and aligned approach to procurement across the group of companies, the Assistant Buyer will be responsible for ensuring a positive and pro-active approach to managing all aspects of their client contracts and assisting the buying team with any requirements.

Full understanding of the companies approach to ethical procurement ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the supply chain cycle.


Duties:


Pro-actively contributes towards the companies' global procurement vision of best practice and being the market leader in procurement by working with Senior Management to improve and promote high levels of operational performance.


  • Sources and supply goods / services in line with client KPI's.
  • Achieve targets utilizing gainshare/baseline models and negotiating discounts to achieve additional profit.
  • Negotiates costs and payment terms with suppliers to ensure quality, delivery and technical standards are met.
  • Ensures the procurement process operate in line with company QHSE standards, policies and procedures.
  • Ensures queries are resolved promptly whether internal or external.
  • Ensures customs paperwork is provided in a timely manner.
  • Ensures search and utilize client surplus stock for all RFQ's received.
  • Ensures source ecofriendly alternative products and offer to customers.
  • Ensures customer feedback is received on a monthly basis to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure systems are up to date at all times
  • Build sound relationships with customers/suppliers
  • Assist credit controller resolve client and supplier invoice queries in a timely manner.

Qualifications and Skills Required:


  • Previous Procurement Experience desired by not essential.
  • Proficient in the Use of IT systems including Excel, Crystal Reports, Dynamics GP, Management Databases.

£21,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
