Rheumatology Infusion Suite Lead Nurse


The Rheumatology and MSK Service in West Sussex has a vacancy for a senior nursing role to support in clinics and manage the IV suite.


The team consists of Consultant Rheumatologists, Rheumatology Clinical Lead Nurse, Rheumatology Advanced Practice Physiotherapist, Registered Nurses and OT, and work alongside the chronic pain and MSK service.


Applicants are should ideally have experience of working in rheumatology/ MSK / or with long term conditions and have experience in multidisciplinary working.

IV therapy and cannulation skills desirable but further training and support is provided. Community / outpatient experience would be helpful and there may be further opportunities to develop a rheumatology specialism.


The team offers specialist assessment, monitoring and rehabilitation to patients with rheumatological conditions, working closely with the other health services.

The responsibilities include assessment, treatment, education and health promotion for patients with inflammatory conditions.

The post-holder will be expected to lead the IV suite which includes managing patient flow through the unit, supporting staff and maintaining good governance and robust processes to ensure the smooth running of the unit.

If the post-holder does not have relevant specific rheumatology experience/skills, these can be developed at a later stage in accordance with the clinical lead nurse's direction.

The role will involve supporting patients to be independent in the management of their long term conditions with opportunities to work across the other integrated service's within MSK in the future.
