We are Derwent FM, and provide a range of facilities management services predominantly in the Student Sector.

We have an on-site operating model with 20 site managers and circa 250 colleagues based around the UK and Ireland.

Our target model is a community-basedapproach involving local neighbourhoods, suppliers and providing facilities management a rounded pastoral support package to students.

Moreabout your role

Due to an internal move we are currently recruiting for a Senior People Specialist to join our People Team within Derwent FM, this is a lean function which sits within a larger People Team across the Places for People group.

This is an exciting time to jointhe team, you will be able to put your own stamp on the role and really make a difference.


Our goal is that we can offer an effortless HR service to all our colleagues, achieving this by working alongside the Head of People and Culture as well as other senior manager, to deliver the people initiative and supporting in the delivery of the peopleagenda.

You will be managing change and delivering strategies across multiple sites, working on complex ER cases and designing and delivering training to manager on key people management areas


This is a Hybrid role with the need for the successful applicant to work from our head office in Leeds twice a week (Monday & Thursday) you will also need to travel to different sites across the country as required to carry out training and supporting managers.

Moreabout you
We are looking for passionate HR Professionals who are looking for their next challenge.

You will have previous experience of working within a People team and ideally have worked within a multi-site business before.

You will be a strong HR Generalist who haschange and project management skills and will be CIPD qualified.


You will be an excellent communication, able to deliver clear information to all levels, challenge back when needed and liaise with multiple departments across Derwent FM and the wider People Team.


Due to internal promotion you will be joining a fairly lean and new team so will be confident in working independently and forging relationships with managers and colleagues.
