We are looking to fill the following permanent post to start Monday 17th April 2023

Lead Data Officer
37 hours per week, term time + one week (39 weeks per year)
Mon - Thurs 8.00am to 4.00pm, Fri 8.00am to 3.30pm (with a half-hour unpaid lunch break)
Salary level 5, SCP Actual Salary £21,066-£23,087 (FTE £24,496-£26,845)


Due to the retirement of the current post-holder, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Examination and Data officer to join our team.


Your main responsibility will be to assist the Associate Assistant Headteacher and Examinations and Data Officer managing the flow of data into and out of the school's management information systems, whilst ensuring all data is sensitively handled and confidentiality maintained.


The role and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • To support the AAHT and Examinations and Data Officer in their role.
  • Work under your own initiative to ensure workload is prioritised and efficiently completed.
  • To work alongside the AAHT to oversee all pupil data in the school's MIS (SIMS) including liaising with previous schools as necessary.
  • To ensure data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR.
  • To update student, parent and staff data when appropriate.
  • To assist the AAHT with the student reporting process; including checking the content and accuracy of teacher comments and producing and uploading student reports.
  • To support and deputise for the Exams & Data Officer in exam elements of their role.
  • To meet with the Line Manager every week to enable regular review and discussion.
  • To provide administration support, where necessary to other areas of the school, including word processing, photocopying, filing and providing support, as required for scheduled events within school e.g. Parents' Evenings and Open Evening.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the AAHT as commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post.
  • The postholder requires a good level of general education.
  • A good sense of humour, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Computer literacy, including a high level of proficiency in Excel and Word and ideally a knowledge of SIMS.
  • A flexible, efficient approach to duties is required, with the ability to act on own initiative.
  • The ability to work well both individually and as part of a team
  • The ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Appropriate knowledge and understanding of UK GDPR
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
