Job Role:
Engagement and Impact Co-Ordinator

MPA are currently recruiting for a full-Time Engagement and Impact Co-Ordinator in Belfast.

The post holder will be a key link between the practice and policy impact functions of PCC. They will operate across the four pillars of PCC Engage, PCC Connect, PCC Support and PCC Impact.


The post holder will be responsible for leading the coordination of key activities across PCC that support engagement of the public and which evidence and communicate PCC impact.

This will include responsibility for the day to day running, management and development of the PCC's Membership Scheme.


The post holder will also coordinate PCC 'Make Change Together', the PCC's flagship involvement methodology, of which the Membership Scheme is a key part, to inform and encourage the Northern Ireland public to become more engaged in their local Health and Social Care services.

The post holder will coordinate and support programmes of engagement and advocacy through which members of the public can directly influence and impact health and social care.

Hours of Work 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)


Pay Rate:
£18.10 Per Hour


What the role entails:


  • Under the direction of the Leadership Team lead the development and delivery of the PCC's Membership Scheme on behalf of the PCC.
  • Ensure the effective management of the daytoday administrative activities of the PCC Membership Scheme including compliance with information governance with support from Business Support.
  • Develop and implement Membership specific projects as part of a PCCwide involvement/engagement strategy and coordinate the development and implementation of associated annual involvement/engagement activities and programmes.
  • Lead the ongoing development of the PCC's Membership Scheme and assist in the development of strategies to further the scheme's reach, levels of engagement, representation and diversity.
  • Develop and deliver an attraction strategy for membership to maximise engagement and proportionate representation.
  • Ensure Membership resources are used effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of the PCC.

Engagement Coordination_

  • Support the development, implementation and coordination of activities related to embedding PCC Connect, PCC Engage, PCC Support and PCC Impact as core foundations of the PCC practice and brand
  • Promote and support service user involvement in the design and delivery of health and social care through PCC 'Make Change Together' methodology.
  • Develop 'Make Change Together' and lead its continuous improvement including development of key documentation for use across PCC practice and with external stakeholders
  • Lead in the development and implementation of relevant Membership/Involvement procedures and standards when appropriate.
  • Act as the PCC's main point of contact for all Membership and Make Change Together related enquiries from members, service users, HSC organisations, 3rd sector organisations and specifications for proposed new programmes.
  • Provide advice and support to key stakeholders within the PCC, in other HSC organisations, and the 3rd sector in relation to 'Make Change Together', Membership engagement tools, practices and policies.
  • Coordinate the recruitment of people and organisations through 'Make Change Together', liaising with Leadership Team members and external stakeholders including Department of Health colleagues and HSC bodies
  • Develop and maintain an annual calendar of PCC engagement/involvement activities, coordinating across the PCC practice team and representing the different levels within PCC engagement structures
  • In conjunction with the Communications and Public Affairs Manager, lead on the alignment and coordination of PCC engagement and impact activities with an annual programme of key dates and events in the external health and social care policy environment e.g. Mental Health Awareness Day

Essential Criteria:


1a. A relevant University degree/professional qualification or equivalent


AND
2 years' experience of co-ordinating projects


OR

1b. Four years' experience of coordinating projects within health and social care relating to public involvement and partnership working or community development or service user advocacy

Have a good working knowledge of ICT and ICT systems. Experience in the use of database systems, digital communications and platforms and a working knowledge of how they operate.


Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.

This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by The Organisation which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.

Be able to work on own initiative and meet tight deadlines.

Have excellent communication skills - demonstrate evidence
