Description

A leading company with direct relationships with 80% of the UK's top brands is looking to invest heavily in its Database Administrator Team and needs an experienced Senior DBA to oversee and provide third-level support on predominantly AWS RDS Aurora databases.

Situated as an SME, you'll regularly perform root cause analysis on database issues and work alongside a likeminded IT Service team that will support you in your goals.

In addition, you will also:

Oversee databases and ensure they are running correctly and efficiently
Design database structures for new systems or create new databases.
Remain aware of database activity and ensure security is upheld
Performing disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
Protect data from being lost by creating backups
Evaluate databases and provide recommendations on how to improve security and reduce tampering
Ensure database software is at its current version and aligned with the tech trends of the industry
Troubleshooting database issues and providing resolution within SLAs

About you:

Relevant commercial experience in a DBAfocused role
Firm experience in SQL Scripting
Skilled in the following tech: AWS RDS for MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra & DynamoDB
Comfortable dispensing cloudbased database solutions
Background in ITIL frameworks, Project lifecycles and Linux O/S
Understanding of relevant GDPR legislations for database apps
Provide mentorship to other DBAs
Extensive experience managing large databases (>2TB)
