Learning Support Assistant
Learning Support Assistant - Full-Time, September 2023- Mainstream Primary School, Milton Keynes - One to one role with Year 4 student with Autism - £90 per day
Learning Support Assistant, you'll have the rewarding task of working closely with a Year 4 student who has Autism and communication difficulties. Your role will be super important in providing one-on-one support and helping the student make progress. This is a full-time position starting in September, and if you rock it, there's a chance for it to become a permanent gig.
Responsibilities:
- Give personalised support to a Year 4 student with Autism and communication difficulties.
- Help the student engage in classroom activities and access the curriculum.
- Use cool strategies and interventions to meet the student's specific needs and learning goals.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student's growth.
- Team up with the class teacher and other professionals to make sure the support is consistent.
- Support the student's social and emotional wellbeing.
Learning Support Assistant Person Specification:
here's what we're looking for:
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, especially Autism and communication difficulties is not essential but preferred
- A good understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by students with Autism.
- The ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to support the student's development.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the student.
- Willingness to keep learning and attend training sessions.
