Specialist Learning & Behaviour Mentor

Would you love to make a positive difference to people's lives every day? We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning & Behaviour Mentors to help to improve the lives of young people.

You will be working for a school dedicated to helping young people with SEMH and ASD. It's rewarding, challenging and loads of fun; you'll meet some great young people, and have access to brilliant training and development opportunities

We have been asked to support the recruitment of an Specialist Learning & Behaviour Mentor for an immediate start and this is covering a permanent vacancy.

This school caters for young people with social, emotional and mental health issues and so can often show challenging behaviours.

You will need to have a range of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies.

Your Role:

Supporting a learner on a onetoone basis or in small groups
Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class
Providing feedback to teachers and parents
You will be assisting pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties and other Learning Disabilities

What you will need:

A range of behaviour management techniques
To have worked with learners with a range of needs
The ability to reengage a young person in learning through a range of methods
To be able to commit to working at the school for long period of time
A resilient attitude
