Description
The role:
A key feature of the role of the Quality Assurance Engineer is to assist the Quality Manager to develop, deploy and improve the company quality management system, creating a Right First Time Every Time attitude and proactive quality culture.
- Coordinate and deliver, a risk based audit and review program, leading and participating when relevant; ensuring follow up of recommendations and corrective actions.
- Assist Quality manager in planning, conducting and facilitating project execution and assurance reviews
- Provide input to tender documentation / subcontract / supplier documents and participate in subcontract / supplier evaluations.
- Assist, as appropriate in the compliance and communication of customer / Regulatory / Statutory / Governmental requirements and ensure these are included into quality documents and deliverables.
- Monitor effectiveness of Quality KPI to meet company objectives and project targets.
Required knowledge & skills:
- Ability to interpret customer and regulatory specifications and create specific quality plans, procedures, inspection plans, and work instructions
- Broad project and quality management experience in on / offshore fabrication and construction aspects in oil and gas / infrastructure / shipbuilding industries.
- Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills, accurate written and verbal communication in English language.
- Ability to function well in a matrix type organisation to support project teams deploying the necessary quality processes, procedures and tools.
- Skilled in deployment of quality improvement / operational excellence tools (lean sigma, RCA, Leader Standard Work, etc)
- Recognised professional qualification in Engineering or Quality Management background (HNC/HND) or
- 5 to 10 years in Quality Assurance / engineer role in O&G or equivalent industry
- Professional membership of CQI or ASQ
- Lead or Internal Quality Auditor experience
- IRCA registration preferred
- Professional certification and training in Six Sigma Green belt.
