Planning Assistant

Salary:
£24,000 per annum


Role:
Permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week


Location:
Hersham, Surrey

A well-established, design-focused multi-disciplinary Chartered Architect, Planning and Structural Engineering practice.

We offer bespoke design, planning and structural services for developers, landowners and property owners for residential, commercial and listed building projects throughout the South of the UK.

Working in partnership, we improve the design of buildings and drive down energy costs - without sacrificing individual distinctive design philosophies


We specialise in multi-unit and mixed retail/housing schemes and high-end, one-off, residential clients, and are currently working on a number of leisure schemes.


Due to our ongoing success, repeat business, and new referrals, we are proud to be growing and have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Assistant to join our exceptional team.

Planning Assistant - Main duties:


  • Prepare detailed planning statements
  • Preparation of design and access statements
  • Site visits and appraisals
  • Assist at client meetings
  • Liaison with the Local Authority
  • Write reports and letters
  • Research and design planning policies to guide development

Do you have:


  • A RTPI accredited degree in town planning
  • Ideally 1+ years' experience in a Town Planning role or in a government planning department
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience or understanding of the planning process and system
  • An inquisitive and solutionfocused attitude
  • Ability to remain calm when under pressure
  • Experience of working under own initiative, at pace to meet deadlines

Nice to haves:

***_Highly desirable although not essential:_

  • Chartership or actively working towards it
  • Experience of using software basic CAD software, Indesign, Photoshop, Desktop publication software, 3D graphic software, although training will be provided
