Description

Working closely with the Service Managers and Divisional Operational Manager within the Head and Neck CBU you will manage information in relation to the patient pathways, ensuring targets, including 18 weeks and cancer targets are achieved and maintained, and capacity within services is fully utilised.


You will also be responsible for the line management of the Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) and Oral Maxillo-Facial (OMFS) administration and secretarial teams.

Your role will be to develop and manage working practices to ensure the delivery of an efficient and responsive service, encompassing new initiatives, policies and procedural changes and processes.

  • Ensure effective processes are in place for flexible elective patient booking and rota coordination to ensure sufficient capacity and resources are planned into the rota to match the demand for outpatient clinics and elective theatre lists.
  • Chair weekly secretarial and administration meetings to monitor performance and ensure maximum capacity of outpatient clinics and theatre utilisation.
  • To monitor, scrutinise and challenge weekly Directorate validation processes in line with data quality and achievement of 18 weeks and cancer targets.
  • Contain an indepth understanding of cancer pathways, processes and targets by utilising relevant systems (Somerset, eTrack and Winscribe PTL).
