About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Public Rights of Way Team for a permanent Access Support Officer. This position is currently based at our Castlewood offices in Clevedon.


Please be advised that this office will be closed by 2025. Consultation is currently underway to determine the new location for colleagues based in Castlewood; This will be at Weston-super-Mare or within North Somerset.**You will be joining the Natural Environment team helping to deliver actions from our new ambitious Green Infrastructure strategy and our Rights of Way Improvement Plan. Our passionate Natural Environment Team delivers green infrastructure across North Somerset through services such as parks and open spaces, rights of way, trees, flooding, ecology and landscape.


About you


We are seeking an administrator who is looking to develop their experience in a local authority context and to further develop their skills and knowledge.

You will need to demonstrate an understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel and ideally have experience of using a GIS mapping program.

You will be working closely with other officers in the team who deal with similar work, and you will have your own caseload.


You will have experience in a similar role, preferably within a local authority, hold an NVQ level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent and an NVQ level 3 or 4 qualifications or equivalent to demonstrate technically specific skills relating to the appropriate area of work.

You should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be computer literate.


A valid driving licence is required and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
