The Governors of this Bootle Primary School would like to appoint 5 enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants at Level 3 who have experience of delivering a range of interventions.


Class Seven - EYFS/KS1 ASC:

  • 10 children in a class supported by a team of 5 TAs and one Teacher. This role requires intimate care (children in nappies), use of handling techniques and lots of sensory and early communication. This is a physically active role.
We require two TAs from January.


Class Eight - KS2 ASC:

  • 12 children in a class supported by a team of 3 TAs and one Teacher. This involves teaching 1:1 and in small groups. A basic understanding of Autism and the National Curriculum is needed in this role.
We require one TA from January.


Class Ten - KS2 SEMH:

  • 8 children in a class supported by a team of 3 TAs and one Teacher. This involves use of handling techniques. The TA will be teaching English and Maths in small groups so will need an understanding of the National Curriculum.
We require 2 TA's from January.

Areas of Responsibility and Key Tasks.

  • Assist in the educational and personal/social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the Classroom Teacher, including delivering specific parts of the curriculum to groups of pupils, assessing children's progress and reporting it to the Class Teacher
  • Access a range of training for specified interventions.
  • Deliver a range of interventions.
  • Support the use of ICT in learning activities and develop students' competence and independence in its use.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual Education Health Care Plans for children and help monitor their progress, including attending relevant meetings such as statutory reviews.
  • Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual needs ensuring effective interaction.
  • Support for children and staff throughout the school, including pastoral support.
  • Provide specific support to children dependent upon their individual needs ensuring their safety whilst supporting access to learning activities.
  • Provide support for individual pupils inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
  • Work with other professionals, such as speech therapists, medical professionals and occupational therapists, as necessary.
  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records, including observations and assessments.
  • Promote selfesteem and independence.
  • Show willingness to support students with individual medical and personal care needs following appropriate training.

Personal Attributes:


  • Minimum of 2 years experience of working with children in an educational setting within the primary age range.
  • Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards.
  • Level 2 English and Mathematics at grades A*C or equivalent.
  • Previous experience of delivering interventions in a primary school setting and experience across the primary phase

Salary:
£75.00-£85.00 per day
