Our client:

The UCL Department of Computer Science has a significant teaching portfolio, with over 450 undergraduate and affiliate students, and over 450 taught graduate students on a range of MSc programmes.

They teach a number of modules taken by students outsideComputer Science, and also supervise over 175 graduate research students.

Main purpose of the role:

To provide Computer Science with operational delivery of communications and marketing activities which are on brand, on budget and on time and ensure an on-going process of improvement through measurement and analytics.

Main duties & responsibilities:

Update and develop the department's website
Prepare a range of press releases and news items, liaising with academic staff, students and Media Relations teams as necessary
Support the Communications Team with social media management and monitoring
Proof reading a range of content, including print and digital
Assist the Communications Team with regular reporting to internal stakeholders
Support with event coordination, including workshops, conferences, book launches and receptions, seminars and public engagement events
Take responsibility for small projects within large scale events
Build external networks to develop sector and best practice for UCL communications and marketing

Desired Skills / Knowledge / Experience:

Educated to at least A level standard or relevant professional experience
Qualification in a communications or marketing discipline, or equivalent professional experience
Working knowledge of Content Management Systems (e.g. Drupal)
Experience of creating and managing news and media content
Knowledge of social media platforms and how they can be used to communicate and engage with different audiences
Experience of using social media to promote an organisation, project or campaign
Experience of events administration work
