Empowering Learning are working alongside a school in the NG7 area who are looking to appoint an Sports & Learning Mentor to begin work on a full time basis from May 2024.

The hours of work in this role are 8:30-16:00

The main duties within this role are?

  • Working with pupils who present with a high level of needs
  • Leading sports sessions at break and lunch times
  • Assisting with the delivery of PE across all age groups
  • Building relationships with children and helping them engage in class
  • Running intervention groups to help children improve their social skills
  • Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO around the progress of children
  • Ensuring any relevant paperwork and administration is completed

The school are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children
  • Possesses a relevant coaching badge or degree
  • Possesses an understanding of the SEND curriculum
  • Can effectively communicate with children and colleagues
  • Is able to build relationships with children and help them engage
  • Can think on their feet and respond to challenging situations

Pay:
£19,628.00-£23,485.07 per year
