Description
To achieve an apprentice standard (Key Skills, Certificate/Diploma and Technical Certificate) within the specified time frame. Attend all of the training sessions for the programme whenever necessary. Undertake any necessary home work during the length of the course.


To assist the department in the provision of the broad range of services provided, working under the supervision of the department staff.

An Apprentice is expected to expand and broaden their skills and abilities.

Nonetheless, they must operate at all times under the direct supervision of a senior member of staff, unless operating according to agreed procedures that have been approved by the manager.

Support with preparation of patient documentation for inpatient and out patient activity

Support with the creation of patient records

Support with the pulling, preparing, retrieving of patient records

Support with the Subject Access Request Team

Maintain working relationships with colleagues, communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and external organisations.

Deal with queries face to face, electronically or via phone.

Working as part of our Health Records Library team, you will be a valued member of our Digital Technology Services Directorate, at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.

Health Records Library operates 24/7, 365 days per year.

You will have the benefit of working as part of a large, supportive team but are also expected to show initiative, work independently and demonstrate consistently high standards.

Being flexible in approach and having an awareness of the need for confidentiality and integrity is vital in this role.

You will be able to work in a calm organised way with the ability to multi-task. You must be confident, friendly and able to work in a very busy environment.
