Description:

Our fast-paced manufacturing client is looking to appoint an experienced Buyer to join their busy Supply Chain Team.

The Buyer will be responsible for the purchasing of components, materials and services to ensure meet the needs of production and ensure production continuity.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

Managing the relationships of Key Suppliers and Sub-Contractors, measuring performance and working together to improve On-Time delivery and quality
Sourcing of new Suppliers, negotiating terms to secure favourable agreements on price, quality and delivery schedules
Resolve any quality issues of products with Suppliers
Ensure any issues of delivery are highlighted
Benchmarking of key commodities
Work closely with colleagues in different departments (manufacturing, finance, Engineering)
Assist in the implementation of process improvement and best practice across the Supply Chain Team

Experience and knowledge required for the role:

Proven experience working in a similar Purchasing/Buyers role within a manufacturing environment
Experience in building strong relationships with Suppliers and managing performance
Strong negotiation, commercial and cost analysis skills
Experience of using ERP/MRP systems and good Excel skills
Team Player who works well with colleagues
A solver of problems who always seeks the solution
