ROLE- Mechanical Technician

LOCATION- South Oxfordshire

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £23,000- £33,000 per annum (dependent on experience)My client works within the engineering manufacturing sector, and they are looking to take on an Mechanical Engineering Technician, on a permanent basis, in the Oxfordshire area.

The Mechanical Technician will ideally have the following attributes:

  • NVQ / Apprenticeship/ City & Guilds / HNC qualification ideally or similar in Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous hands on experience in a similar mechanical engineering manufacturing / maintenance environment
  • Be confident using machine tools and working with machinery
  • Have an awareness for Health & Safety
  • Be proficient with using MS Office
  • The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
  • Have good communication skills

The Mechanical Technician role will involve:

  • Providing support to development and R&D projects
  • Offering general engineering knowledge
  • Supporting Project Engineers
  • Working hands on with machinery and measuring equipment
  • Working on the assembly and installation of tooling
  • Being involved in mechanical preventative maintenance tasks
  • Providing breakdown support on equipment when needed
  • Machine build and also the assembly of products
  • Using lathes, mills and grinders as required
  • Performing risk assessments as needed
  • Assisting with other general manufacturing activities
